Sedo Insurance is a licensed insurance brokerage operating in Benin. We are the data controller for information collected through this platform. Contact: hello@sedoinsurance.com.

2. Data we collect

We collect information you provide when you:

• Create an account (name, email, phone, date of birth)
• Request a quote (vehicle details, health history, property information)
• File a claim (incident description, photos, supporting documents)
• Contact our support team

We also collect technical data automatically: IP address, browser type, pages visited, and session duration, for security and analytics purposes.

3. How we use your data

Your data is used to:

• Provide and improve our services (quoting, policy management, claims)
• Communicate with you about your account, policies, and claims
• Comply with legal and regulatory obligations (CIMA, CRCA, ANIP)
• Detect and prevent fraud
• Send marketing communications, only with your explicit consent

4. Legal basis for processing

We process your data on the basis of (a) contractual necessity — to provide the services you requested; (b) legal obligation — to comply with insurance regulations; and (c) legitimate interest — to secure our platform and prevent fraud. Marketing communications are sent only with your consent.

5. Data sharing

We share your data with our CIMA-licensed partner insurers for the purpose of underwriting and policy issuance. We may also share data with payment processors (FedaPay), email service providers (Resend), and cloud infrastructure providers (Supabase/AWS). We do not sell your personal data.

6. Data retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active and for a period of 10 years after policy expiry, as required by insurance regulations. You may request deletion of data not required for regulatory compliance.

7. Your rights

Under Loi 2017-20 (Benin) and applicable data protection law, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate data
• Request deletion of data (subject to regulatory requirements)
• Withdraw consent for marketing communications at any time
• Lodge a complaint with ANIP-Bénin

8. Cookies

We use industry-standard encryption (TLS in transit, AES-256 at rest) and role-based access controls to protect your data. We conduct regular security reviews.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy periodically. Material changes will be notified by email at least 15 days before taking effect. Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
